Choose a hat for everyday or a special occasion
For your initial consultation. I'll invite you to visit my studio in Cupar, Fife, If that's not possible we can discuss your needs and wishes by phone or in a zoom seesion.
At our initial consultation, we'll talk about what you need from your hat:
- Is your hat for a special occasion and if so, what type of event?
- Are there any particular features you would like to see in your hat?
- Have you a specific budget in mind?
- which styles, colours, materials, and embellishments you prefer.
At the end of the consultation I will advise on the fee for designing Your Hat. The design fee will usually vary from £25 to £100 depending on the complexity of the design work; this fee will be refundable against the final price if you go on to commission your hat from Spangled BoBBins.
Your design fee will cover the design work required to produce some millinery sketches, and proposed colour schemes and materials. The sketches will then be shared with you and styling options discussed with you to arrive at a final design for your hat.
Once you've approved the design for your hat, I'll provide an estimate for creating your commission. The final cost of Your Hat will also vary according to the amount of millinery work required, and the cost of the materials used, minus the design fee.
